Our horses

Our horses are the true stars of Raemelton. Without their naturally caring dispositions we would not be where we are today. Below is a list of all of our current equine staff.

Baci

Baci

I am a very pretty Palomino gelding. Everyone says that my coat is a beautiful golden color. My owner is at college and loaned me to Raemelton.

I've heard rumors that I am an invaluable therapy horse but all I know is I love my job. I will do my very best to complete whatever is asked of me by my students.

My best friend Thomas and I enjoy being turned out together.

Thomas

Thomas

I am a pretty little Pony of the Americas cross. I really love all the little kids.

Although I have to admit I am not to fond of playing basketball.

My best friend Baci and I sure do have lots of fun together.

Missy

Missy

I am a very pretty Dartmoor Welsh pony cross. My former job was on the show circuit and I even went to Pony finals!

My owner loaned me to Raemelton. I was ready for a more relaxing lifestyle and it's perfect here. We sure get spoiled!

We sure do get spoiled and we even made a new friend, including Princess. I love all my students and their volunteers.

Princess

Princess

I am a pretty Pony of the Americas and also the matriarch of Raemelton.

Since I had retired from the show circuit a while ago I was able to show Missy the ropes.

Although we reminisce about the old days we agree that we sure are glad to be here at the farm.

Getting spoiled is nice.

Brass

Brass

I am a very handsome Haflinger. I am not always as trusting as my friend Barney but once I know you are going to be nice to me I am okay.

I am learning to not be afraid of fly spray, baths, and being kissed on the nose.

I used to pull the carriage, since it is a little big for me, my new friend, Hitch, has agreed to take over.

Barney

Barney

I am a very handsome Haflinger and have been told that I am very photogenic.

I also am very mischievous. I like to unzip coats and coveralls and talk back by flapping my lips.

I have the perfect trot to learn to post on. I have been told by one of the instructors that I am a saint!

But don't tell my friends they'll be jealous.

Hitch

Hitch

I am a Haflinger gelding. Prior to coming to Raemelton, I was trained as a dressage horse. I was also used in the Richland County Sheriff’s Department Mounted Unit for special events. One of my favorite things is driving and I am very good at it! Then again, I am a great riding pony as well! I take great care of all of my riders and my trot is just beautiful! I am a very friendly guy and a farm favorite! I am the largest of the Haflingers on the farm, but I am a big teddy bear!

Cris

Cris

I am a handsome Holsteiner gelding from Germany. My former jobs were as a jumper and dressage horse. I was donated to a college and when my favorite girl graduated but I wasn't very happy. She picked me back up and loaned me to Raemelton and I love it here!

I take really good care of my students. Even though my size can be intimidating, I really am a big old softy.

I am a majestic black Percheron gelding. Don't let my size fool you, I am a big teddy bear!

Josh

I am a grey Percheron who was used in the past as a trail horse. I am unique from other horses on the farm because I am deaf. That does not stop me from being a wonderful therapy horse. I am very responsive to hand and leg cues and following a horse leader or other horses in the arena. I fit right into the program and take good care of my students. I love it here at the farm!

David

I am a grey former thoroughbred race horse. My registered name is Foo Fighter. I ran my last race in 1998. Racing was fun for a little while but I thought I would try my hoof in the showhorse world and Pony Club where I remained until 2013. I came to Raemelton Therapeutic Equestrian Center in 2013. I plan to retire here. I have had the opportunity to work with some of the most amazing students! Some of my students ride with just a leader and some ride independently, and even trot!

Dusty

My owners call me a “Happy” because I’m half Haflinger and half Appaloosa ...and because I am so easy going. For the last 7 years I have lived on a farm in Southern Ohio. Before that, I belonged to a small farm right next to a HUGE riding school where I used to be a Hunter/Jumper school horse. They used me for their camps as well. Oh, how I loved the attention and the kids!!! I’m very patient, loving, and I have experience with teaching! I love having all these other horses and people around. I fit right into the routine here at Raemelton!

Dolly

Dolly

I am a sweet Halflinger and quarter horse cross mare. Before coming to Raemelton, I worked on a farm pulling carts. Being in class is my favorite place to be! I love my students and the volunteers! Did you know that there is a book written about me and my friend, Doc, called “Working Side-by-Side, A Tale of Two Therapy Ponies” written by Samantha Laux? We must be pretty special ponies!
