Volunteer at Raemelton
Raemelton Therapeutic Equestrian Center teaches horseback riding to the disabled individuals. Volunteers are a vital part of the program. Our greatest need is for side walkers and leaders, but there are other duties in which we utilize volunteers. Two, and sometimes three volunteers are needed to either lead the horses and ponies or act as side walkers with the riders during class time, especially in the beginning stages of the student’s lessons.
For this reason, the program needs to rely upon many volunteers each week. Classes are held 5 days a week, and are run in sessions of 10 weeks. Without the volunteers, the program could not exist or expand to include a greater number of students.
The three primary categories are property management, horse care and lesson assistants.
If you are interested in volunteering your time to assist Raemelton. If you would like more information on volunteering, please fill out the contact form here.
Orientations will be held at least four times a year. Please check our news and events page here for a calendar of events and list of volunteer trainings.
