Where
BECOME
Volunteers are a vital part of our programs. Without volunteers, programming
could not expand to include a greater number of students.
We have several volunteer opportunities available:
IN CLASSES:
SIDEWALKER: The main responsibility of the sidewalker is the student's safety.
As a sidewalker you will also aid the student with the tasks they are instructed to complete.
HORSE LEADER: Maintains control of the horse.
Prior horse experience is required and specialized training is provided.
Classes run Monday through Friday from 9:30 am until 6:30, classes are one hour in duration.
We ask that when you sign up for a class that you are able to commit to the same time
for the 10 week session.
Most all of our class volunteers begin as a sidewalker, regardless of previous horse experience.
We provide training classes for new volunteers.
Volunteers over the age of 18 are required to submit to a criminal background check.
IN THE BARN:
Stall cleaning, sweeping, filling/emptying water buckets, horse turn-out, moving/stacking hay, etc.
GENERAL GROUNDSKEEPING:
Mowing, weeding, general ground maintenance.
If you are interested in volunteering, please call the Volunteer Coordinator at 419.756.0040.
